Crochet bib necklace diagram FREE

Recently I finished one of the big projects I've been working on. The crochet bib necklace.

I also made earrings to go with it.

I've  worked so hard on it, had to redo it three times, from start to finish. But at the end I am very pleased at the result  and feel  proud of myself. )))

Today I want to share a diagram that I used for this necklace, in case someone else out there wants to make one!

And here you can find some useful info about crochet chart symbols.

But if you can't crochet and want to have this necklace, you can always stop by at my etsy shop.)))

Happy crocheting, everyone!

XOXO

Caterpillar Rattle FREE pattern

Today I am going to share the crochet pattern for this adorable caterpillar rattle.

I used:
Lily Sugar'n Cream cotton yarn
bells
 polyester Stuffing
velcro tape
2 buttons
crochet hook

Abbreviations:
Ch- chain
dc- double crochet
sc-single crochet
hdc-half double crochet
sc2tg- single crochet two together
sl st- slip stitch
st-stitch

I made 4 balls in different colors using  H/8 hook and following this simple pattern:

The crochet ball:

Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc st till the end (12)
Row 3: {sc, 2 sc in the next st} repeat 6 times (18)
Row 4: {sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in the next st} repeat 6 times (24)
Row 5: {sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in the next} repeat 6 times (30)
Row 6: {sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in the next st} repeat 6 times (36)
Row 7: {sc in next 5 sts, 2sc in the nextt st} repeat 6 times (42)
Row 8: {sc in the next 6 sts, 2sc in the next st} repeat 6 times (48)
Row 9-16: sc in each st around (48)
Row 17: {sc in next 6 sts, sc2tg  in the next st} repeat 6 times (42)
Row 18: {sc in next 5 sts, sc2tg  in the next st} repeat 6 times (36)
Row 19: {sc in next 4 sts, sc2tg  in the next} repeat 6 times (30)
Row 20: {sc in next 3 sts, sc2tg in the next st} repeat 6 times (24)

At this point I put some stuffing in it, than placed the bell in the center, arranged stuffing around it so I couldn't even tell that it was there and stuffed a little bit more.

Row 21: {sc in next  2 sts, sc2tg  the nextt st} repeat 6 times (18)
Row 22: {sc, sc2tg in the next st} repeat 6 times (12)
Row 23: decrease 6 times- sc2tg all around. (6)
 Finish off.

The head:

Using the same pattern start with one color( I used white) and continue till the Row 6. Then change to another color and continue till the end.

The antennae:

I used white yarn.

Ch 12, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, dc, hdc, 7 sl sts.

Now we just need to make another one to complete the pair and sew it to the top of the head.

The Eyes:

We will need to make two of these.

Row 1: Ch 4, 3 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,  sc in the next st, 3 sc in the last st and one more sc on the other side of the foundation chain.

Row 2: sc, 2sc in the next st, 3 sc, 2sc in the next st, 2 sc.  Finish off.

Now we can start putting everything together and bringing out caterpillar to life. ))

I used tiny black buttons for eyes, pom-pon as nose and white cut out mouth. I used the hot glue gun but if the safety is your concern, you can use  embroidery floss to make eyes, nose and mouth.

Then I glued velcro fasteners to each ball ( the head and the last one will have velcro only on one side)

and our Funny Caterpillar- Rattle is ready!!! )))

Alina loves separating and putting it back together, and the sound make her smile too))))))))

Of course  you can improvise- using different types of yarn and colors. To make it smaller just use smaller size hook.

Happy crafting!!!

xoxo

Embellished Tank Top

The other day I went to the mall and bought a bunch of plain, boring tank top tops in different colors. Now my goal is to make them fun, unique and not so plain))))

So here is the first one, my favorite.I love the coral color and luckily I had the matching  cotton yarn  and a cute button.

So I took  7/1.65mm hook and using single crochet stitch  made the foundation row around the neckline.I didn't even have to make holes for it, I just used the thread stitches on the top.
That's how it looked after I completed the first Row.
Row 2:
{Ch4, 1 treble  in the first single crochet, 1 double crochet  into the next sc, 1 half double crochet  in the next sc, 1sc in the next sc, slip stitch  in the next sc} repeat till the end.

Then I made the flower, and the sew it to the top!

The flower:

Abbreviations:
 Ch- chain
 dc- double crochet
 sc-single crochet
st-stitch

Make the magic loop, Ch1, 15 sc into the ring, tighten and make sl st into the Ch1 space.

Row 1: ch3(counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in the same sc, 3 dc into each of next 14 sc, sl st into the 3rd of ch ch3 at the beginning of the row.

Row 2: ch3(counts as first dc), 2 dc, into the same dc, 3 dc into each of next 44 dc, sl st into 3rd of ch3 at the beginning of the row.

Row 3: {ch4, sl st into the next dc} repeat till the end.

Finish off and the beautiful flower is ready!!!)))

It was very easy and super fast! I hope it will inspire you to create something unique for yourself!

Have a happy crocheting!

XOXO,

Tanya

Crochet Rose FREE pattern

This Monday Alina has turned a year! It was such an emotional day for me! Before I became a mom, I’ve always been sentimental on my B’day, but this year I didn’t care that much. SHE is the center of my world, I know it sound so cliché but I DO now put her needs before mine. If we go shopping I get so excited when we find a cute outfit, or a toy. Life’s changed and I am still not used to it, but I am trying really hard. And on the days when darkness and emptiness is all around me, when it feels like there is nothing left to give, I just cry a little (or a lot) and remind myself that this too shall pass.

When Alina was about three months old and I was just diagnosed with PPD (the topic of my future post), I came across this amazing, unbelievable article- To the Mother with Only One Child.

The first time I read it I was sobbing for two hours! I saw myself in every single word. I printed it out and put it in my notebook,. Since that time whenever I feel like I am running on empty, I read this article, cry or sob (depending on how exhausted I am) and just keep breathing.

“Dear mother, don’t worry about enjoying your life.  Your life is hard; your life will be hard.  That doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong—it means you’re doing it right.”

So I let myself to be sad for the past three days)) and thought what was the best medicine? Crocheting, yeap, that's right!

Today I wanted to make a hair clip for Alina, but one thing let to another and now we have a new head band. That's the story of my life- have one idea in mind and at the end creating something completely different! )) Anyway, I made these roses and wanted to share the pattern.

Abbreviations:
 Ch- chain
 dc- double crochet
 sc-single crochet
st-stitch

The open Rose

Chain 73
Row1: ch3, dc in 2nd ch from the hook and in the every st till the end of the foundation chain.

Row2: skip 3 dc sts, 8 dc in the 4th dc st; skip 2 dc sts, sc in 3rd dc
{ skip 2 dc, 8 dc in the 3rd dc; skip 2 dc, sc in the 3rd dc} repeat one more time

{skip 3 dc sts, 12 dc in the 4th dc; skip 3 dc, sc in the 4th st} repeat 2 more times.

{skip 4 dc sts, 15 dc in the 5th dc; skip 4 dc, sc in the 5th dc} repeat 2 more times.

Finish off.

That's what it should like.

The cener:

For this part I used different color.

Ch 15.
Row1-2: Ch 1,sc every stitch of the foundation chain.(15)
Row3: Ch3, dc in the 2nd sc stich and in every stitch till the end.

Finish off.

The rosebud:

Ch 30.
Row1-2: Ch 1,sc every stitch of the foundation chain.(30)
Row3: Ch3, dc in the 2nd sc stich and in every stitch till the end.

Finish off.

Then I took the needle with thread and fixed all three pieces in the desired shapes.
the center

the rosebud

I glued the centerpiece to the exterior part of the rose, and also glued pink pearls to the tips of the flowers! Then made two simple leaves and arranged everything together.

I hope it all makes sense!))))

Thanks for visiting  and have a wonderful day!!!

P.S. Next time I will show how to make Caterpillar-Rattle that I made for Alina last week. She gives her kisses- so I guess she approves it!   ))))))))))))))
